Surprising news has come from the entertainment industry in Thailand. On Friday, March 24, 2023, GMMTV agency announced that Thai celebrity, Sky Wongravee, has joined as their newest artist under their management.
The artist's full name is Wongravee Nateetorn and he is not a newcomer in the entertainment industry as he has been active since 2014. What is Sky Wongravee's profile and career journey like? Let's take a look at these five facts about him!
1. Sky Wongravee's Career Journey: Starting with Hormones: The Next Gen Competition (2014)
In 2014, Sky Wongravee participated in the competition Hormones: The Next Gen, a talent search for a new face to appear in the hit series Hormones. Unfortunately, Sky, who was still in high school at Suankularb Wittayalai, Bangkok at that time, did not make it to the twelve finalists.
Nevertheless, his talent in acting was noticed and won the hearts of the Hormones series team. Sky eventually got a supporting role as Pala in Hormones Season 3
Sky delivered an impressive performance as a high school student living with HIV, captivating the hearts of fans. Since then, he has actively starred in various TV series such as I Hate You, I Love You and Project S: Side by Side. Notably, in both series, Sky landed the lead role.
2. Active in the film industry. In 2022, two films were released at the same time!
Sky Wongravee is known for being active in his career. In 2019, he was cast as the main character in the series My Ambulance, where he acted alongside Davika Hoorne.
Later in 2022, his acting skills were showcased in not just one, but two films, namely The Lost Lotteries alongside Minnie Panthira and OMG! Oh My Girl.
3. After the disbandment of Nadao Bangkok, Sky Wongravee became an independent artist.
Since his debut in the TV series Hormones Season 3 in 2015, Sky Wongravee has been under the management of Nadao Bangkok agency. Unfortunately, in 2022, the agency that has produced many young Thai celebrities disbanded.
Sky then became a freelance/independent artist. Despite being an independent artist, the Ranong-born artist is not short of job opportunities. He is actively involved in various commercials, brand/event promotion, and also frequently appears as a guest star on TV shows.
4. During his studies at Thammasat University, Sky Wongravee learned about Indonesia.
Despite being busy pursuing a career in the entertainment industry, Sky Wongravee did not neglect his education. Last year in 2022, he graduated from the Faculty of Liberal Arts at Thammasat University.
During his time at the university, Sky majored in Southeast Asian Studies with a concentration in Indonesian studies. It's no wonder that he understands the Indonesian language. Sky even recited a poem about diversity on Indonesian Day held at his campus.
5. Following his junior from Nadao Bangkok, Sky decided to join the GMMTV agency.
Following the dissolution of Nadao Bangkok, the artists under its management became independent artists or moved to other artist management agencies. Junior (Panachai Sriariyarungruang), a former Nadao Bangkok artist, had already joined GMMTV in 2022.
Now, Sky has become a new member of the agency's big family based in Asoke, Bangkok. Hopefully, Sky's career will continue to flourish in his new management.
It is not yet known for sure what Sky Wongravee's next project will be after joining GMMTV.
