Although the organizers did not provide further details regarding the reasons for the cancellation, many fans suspect that this may be due to the spread of false news targeting Nanon.
Previously, the hashtag #ProtectNanon trended on Twitter. This was caused by the Weibo account @乔乔or香香 spreading false news about Nanon. The account uploaded various pictures of Nanon and made several claims, such as Nanon mocking China and liking photos of Thai artists with cannabis plants.
In another post, the account also stated, "The event organizers invited controversial artist Nanon to the Manghe Music Festival. He is known for his bad behavior, support for drugs, and poor singing abilities. Why would the organizers invite such an artist to China?"
Many Nanon fans who became aware of this were furious. They consider the news to be slander and defamation. They are also concerned that this incident will impact Nanon's future career in the entertainment industry.
In response to Nanon's cancellation, his agency, GMMTV, has not yet issued an official statement. However, Nanon's fans continue to show their support through the hashtag #GMMTVProtectNanon, urging GMMTV to take strong actions against the accounts spreading false news.
