Taylor Zakhar Perez, the actor who portrayed Alex Claremont-Diaz in the film "Red, White & Royal Blue," revealed that he is still unaware of the possibility of a sequel to the movie. However, he expressed great enthusiasm if the sequel is indeed in the works.
"They haven't called me yet! We're not sure," Perez said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. "There are so many [stories to tell], we have Casey McQuiston... I mean... let's get into [her] brain and see what she comes up with."
The film "Red, White & Royal Blue" is an adaptation of Casey McQuiston's novel released in 2019. The movie tells the love story between Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of the President of the United States, and Henry Fox-Mountchristen-Windsor, a prince of the United Kingdom.
The film was released on August 11, 2023, and immediately achieved great success, becoming one of the most popular films on Amazon Prime Video.
McQuiston herself has expressed openness to the possibility of a sequel to the film "Red, White & Royal Blue." She mentioned having some ideas for the sequel.
If the sequel to "Red, White & Royal Blue" is indeed in the works, Perez and Nicholas Galitzine, who portrayed Henry Fox-Mountchristen-Windsor, are expected to reprise their roles in the film.
Perez himself expressed great enthusiasm at the prospect of portraying Alex Claremont-Diaz again. He mentioned enjoying the process of filming his first LGBTQ film.
